Dr. Kristen Seghete, PhD, PMH-C

I’m here to create an accepting, non-judgmental space where you can explore the peaks and valleys that shape our experiences. Past experiences, trauma, and current stress contribute significantly to our overall mental health. Significant life changes—such as pregnancy, parenthood, career transitions, relationship status, or health —pose their own unique sets of challenges. I have two decades of experience working in women’s mental health, supporting parents, and have a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). My knowledge and experience creates sessions tailored to the unique needs of women and your specific life experiences.

We’ll work on building skills to help with symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve how you manage your emotions, process past traumas, and connect with what truly matters to you. For parenting support, we will collaboratively develop plans to enhance confidence, reduce stress, and achieve your goals. I focus on understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and I’ll include mindfulness practices to help you stay present and cultivate self-compassion.

Some of the types of therapy I offer include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and parent coaching. I sometimes also incorporate skills and elements from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Conditions I commonly work with:

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Prenatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders

  • Birth trauma

  • Childhood trauma

  • Domestic violence

  • Parenting

  • Family planning decisions

  • Professional and provider stress

  • ADHD and neurodivergence
