Frequently asked questions.

  • I offer free 15-minute consultation visits. Consultation visits are a get to know you meeting, where you can learn more about me and ask questions. I do not provide diagnoses or treatment during consultation visits.

  • I will ask you questions about current challenges, life and mental health history, and your goals. We will work collaboratively to decide what approach and skills will best help you meet your goals.

  • This is different for each person. Some people engage in therapy for as few as 12 sessions and others for years. We will work together to decide how much time is needed to accomplish your goals and what kind of support you want.

  • Most people meet with me weekly or every other week.

  • I work with adolescents and adults. I will also work with infants and a parent.

  • For individual therapy, infants may attend in-person with you until they can crawl (for safety reasons) or are 9 months old, whichever comes first. For virtual visits, I recommend infants only be present until they are about 9 months old. After 9 months old, infants may start to react to information they hear and need more attention to ensure safety. Having infants in another space is fine at any time, even if they occasionally need to nurse/feed. Infants should be present for parent-infant (dyadic) therapy. This type of therapy can be done with infants and toddlers up to about 2 - 3 years of age.
